Sunday Shakes Out, But Monday Night Holds the League Hostage

Three games are already in the books while four fantasy squads sweat out Monday Night Football like it owes them money.

Week 4 served up its tidy little finals on Sunday, then had the nerve to leave four matchups dangling off a cliff into Monday night. Welcome to the Glory Days Gazette, where some of you already know your fate and the rest of you are doom-scrolling your phones during the two-minute warning.

Let's start with what's actually decided. Foosball is the Devil throttled titysprinkles2 102.68-75.58, a 27.1-point beatdown that stands as the blowout of the week so far. If you're titysprinkles2, you're now 1-2 and wondering if your team name was a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Meanwhile Even Bauce Can Beat WV finally lived up to its own trash talk, nipping American Idol 116.38-105.78 — the closest final of the week by a mere 10.6 points. American Idol entered the week undefeated at 3-0; consider this the first crack in the glass.

And Hands Holzberger handled Kardiac Kids 101.76-84.9, a clean, drama-free win that nobody will remember by Wednesday but counts exactly the same in the standings as everything else.

Now, About Monday Night...

Four matchups refuse to die, and Monday Night Football is holding the gavel.

I am so SMRT, D'OH is sitting on 123.62 against Bush League's 84.3, a near-40-point gap that looks locked in — except Drake London and Daniel Carlson haven't played yet. Bush League is 0-3 and could use every last point tonight to make this interesting, but math is math, and that's a steep hill.

Over in Corn Shoughers versus 2 Yards Under, the board reads 117.42-69.72, but Bijan Robinson, Chris Olave, Devaughn Vele, and the New Orleans Saints defense are all still due to play. That's a lot of moving parts left on the table for a game that otherwise looks settled — don't touch that remote.

The real nail-biter, though, belongs to BourbonBandits and Stinky Bastards, separated by just 3.5 points at 107.12-103.62 with Alvin Kamara still to suit up tonight. Every yard he gains swings this one — if there's a game to watch with a beer in hand, it's this.

Standings Check

Entering the week, American Idol and Corn Shoughers were the league's lone unbeatens at 3-0, with Foosball is the Devil pacing the points column at 413.3 for the season. On the other end, Bush League and Even Bauce Can Beat WV opened 0-3, though Even Bauce just punched its first ticket out of the basement with that win over American Idol. Bush League remains the league's lone winless outfit heading into tonight.

Scores current as of Monday morning. Check back once the Monday night dust settles — fortunes are still very much in motion.

Coming up next: the weekly awards column — a lighter, funnier look at the week's best and worst. Expected Wednesday morning.
